This
book is dedicated to:
Everyone with a story to tell who
has ever thought about writing a book. And to writers
aspiring to become published authors but who have
been on a long frustrating quest to find an agent
and/or publisher. Also, to all the disenchanted authors
who have grown weary with the limitations of their
current publishing arrangements. MORE>>
Foreword
by Dan Poynter

Many of life's opportunities begin
with a thoughtful question and continue with a truthful
answer. The hundreds of questions and answers covered
in the first 23 chapters are typical of what authors
need to ask when publishing a book with a POD publisher.

You've evaluated the merits of publishing
your book with a POD publisher and have decided
this process is right for you. Now you need to select
which is the best POD publisher to work with.
Here are the vital points to consider in making your
choice; however, keep in mind that many of the business
models are subject to change as POD publishers
diligently work to improve their services for
publishing and distributing books. Though policies
might change, these areas of concern should remain
relativity constant and you need to be aware of how
the POD publishers you're considering are addressing
these important topics.

Here are some books on my home office
bookshelf and why I believe they'll be of help to
you. This is also a matter of not reinventing the
wheel-or writing a few thousand words when these authors
have already written about them. 'Tis better to direct
you to their books for you to decide about purchasing
their books. I could quote them-and I'm certain they'd
grant me permission-but I'd like you to have the full
flavor of their books. I never was good at writing
papers and quoting folks with similar ideas supporting
what I'm rambling about-in fact I have differing viewpoints
about some aspects of POD. The diverse wealth of information
these books present are worth purchasing. Remember
we authors earn our bread and butter selling books.
When you order their books, do them the additional
favor of the higher royalty earned by ordering their
books directly from the author or their publisher.

Five essays are offered here for you
consideration and enjoyment. Of the five "Unholy
Legions" by Alex Good is perhaps the best. I
might fancy myself to be an essayist of sorts--Alex
truly is one. I tend to ramble and amble along in
an easy style while he nails his points with striking
success right to the door. Essays are a marvelous
form of reflective expression about subjects needing
expressing.

Without content books would be rather
empty and devoid of words. Hopefully the table set
before you will hold lots of food for thought, perhaps
a few kernels of wisdom, and maybe even a belly laugh
or two.
